Director of Technical Service


The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS. We’re working in 15 countries around the world to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV and give children and families who live with HIV and AIDS a chance for a healthy future - with a mission to eliminate pediatric AIDS. EGPAF in Kenya is looking to recruit a highly innovative and motivated organisational leader to work as the Director of Technical Services based in Nairobi. The Role Reporting to the Country Director, the Director of Technical Services (DTS) has supervisory and managerial responsibility over all aspects of overall program design; management; reporting; representation, coalition development and networking; research and documentation; advocacy, and resource mobilisation.
This is a high level leadership position within EGPAF Kenya that will be part of the Executive Leadership Team.
S/he will lead a strong team of project Directors engendering a collaborative team spirit focused on achievement of program goals and objectives.
The DTS will oversee all EGPAF Kenya program activities and ensure EGPAF Kenya program is technically sound, well planned and accountable with measurable impact. The position will also ensure program implementation is consistent with EGPAF strategic plan, values, mission and vision.
Who we are looking for: • Medical Doctor with at least 10 years’ experience in HIV/AIDS/TB care, treatment and prevention, Maternal and Child Health, in a developing country context; MPH a plus • At least 5 years’ experience designing and implementing facility and community-based PMTCT, HIV/AIDS/TB programs • Experience in research design and monitoring and evaluation, including reviewing and interpreting HIV/AIDS/TB programs data • Experience in managing a large Health program • Experience coordinating with Government, US Government agencies, other donors and NGOs • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Kiswahili)Knowledge of another international language would be an added advantage. • Ability to interact at policy level and facility level with ease • Excellent computer skills • Strong analytical and report writing skills • Willingness to travel extensively within Kenya, work extended periods in the field and interact effectively with local communities, and to learn new approaches • Ability to work and deliver results with minimum supervision • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a multi-disciplinary team setting
