Operations Manager
Chemonics seeks an operations manager for the anticipated
three-year, $23-million, USAID-funded Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS)
project in Kenya. The project will work with Kenyan government
ministries and the National Environment Management Authority in support
of the President’s Malaria Initiative. This will include implementing a
high-quality IRS program in identified districts, conducting
comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of the program, and developing
the capacity of the Division of Malaria Control and the public sector to
conduct IRS. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for
making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide project operational oversight and serve as the key liaison between project staff, partner organizations, and government agencies
- Provide on-site technical assistance
- Facilitate logistical implementation of spraying activities in collaboration with Kenyan partners
- Oversee the quality of reporting and technical assistance activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in public health or a related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing IRS programs
- Experience interacting with country-level ministries of health
- Experience implementing projects in a developing country required; experience working in Kenya strongly preferred
- Understanding of U.S. government environmental regulations and appropriate use of insecticides
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- English fluency required
