Purpose of the Post:
Under general guidance and supervision of the Admin/Finance Officer, performs a variety of duties related to operations’ budget and financial transactions.
The successful candidate will be offered a Fixed Term Appointment for one year. Further extensions will be based on organizational needs, availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
Major duties and responsibilities:
Check, and process all payments related to staff entitlements, programme activities and operational
services.
Assist in closing the accounts of every month and ensure timely action every month.
Monitor the support budget of NEZ and follow up on the expiring grants of allocated funds.
Follow up on all transfers of staff members, suppliers and partners.
Review programme liquidations and advance payment to UNICEF partners.
Review the budget of programme activities and ensure they apply UNICEF rates. Monitor open payment items (staff & Partners) and report.
Responsible for photocopying all financial documents and maintaining proper financial records for easy reference.
Qualifications, Experience and competencies
Completion of secondary school education preferably supplemented with diploma or training in Business Administration and/or Accounting or finance.
Five (5) years’ work experience in finance capacity.
Good knowledge of computer applications like word processing and spreadsheets
Fluency in English and Somali languages (written and oral) is required.
Ability to organize and prioritize work and communicate with tact.
Ability to work independently and accurately.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
