Marketing Manager

Summary
Our client is an international health and wellness company dealing with Health products in the range of: Skin care, Home care, Food and Health fitness equipment. The group has its headquarters in China with operations in Europe, America and Asia and are now seeking to make inroads in the African market with Kenya as the Headquarters.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies to meet the company’s overall objectives, including management of marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure profit growth and expansion of company products.
  • Develop a coherent and multifaceted branding and promotion strategy that is able to deliver company objectives and market penetration.
  • Prepare marketing budgets and monitor to ensure that they remain within the budgetary provisions.
  • Develop and implement an effective PR and communication strategy that ensures that both current and potential customers are kept informed of the company’s operations and product standards.
  • Set and drive the implementation of high quality customer care and quality standards so as to help develop/maintain the company’s image in the market as a first class service provider and maintain first class relationships with customers
  • Conduct on-going market analysis to identify immediate and future business growth opportunities and put in place effective plans for their achievement.
  • Monitor competitor activity and quality of service in the market place and highlight issues with the management team as needed.
  • Prepare and implement the annual promotion calendar to ensure timely execution of all planned activities including participating in industry events; prepare a detailed, analytical report of the performance of each promotion activity in liaison with the sales team, one month after the promotion.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with retail and distributor outlets and decision makers in corporate organizations so as to be privy of their current and future needs and ensure that the company is given favourable consideration and repeat business.
  • Prepare and circulate marketing communication materials including price quotations, special offers, customer presentations, trade presentations and product brochures.
  • Developing and recommending pricing strategy for the organization which will result in the greatest market share in the long run.
  • Conducting market surveys on current and new product concepts in order to meet consumer expectations satisfactorily.
Education and relevant skills
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or equivalent
  • At least 6 years experience in marketing, 3 of which should be in management; experience in Multi-Level Marketing is desirable
  • Creative and innovative
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong negotiations and presentation skills.
  • Team working and the ability to network effectively
