We are looking for a highly motivated and talented HR professional to join our team and play a key role in driving our human resource development agenda as the organization grows.  
 
Job Purpose
To lead, provide support and advice in all human resource (HR) activities including; recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, industrial and employee relations and performance management. Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships to maximize the achievement of business goals.


Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage the HR function through the development, standardization, review and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Monitor all HR activities and practices to ensure compliance
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the recruitment process in order to attract and maintain a highly skilled workforce and ensure that they are optimally engaged through developing/revising job descriptions
  • Ensure that staff are appropriately deployed throughout the business including continuously assessing the manpower needs of the business (i.e. business goals, occupancy etc.), establishing manning levels and skill requirements.
  • Manage industrial relations matters by negotiating with the union and developing cordial relations with the shop stewards, as well as offering training and general guidance to managers and supervisors on labour laws, HR policies and related good practices.
  • Handle staff grievances in a prompt, conscientious manner while paying heed to the company’s business needs and policies
  • Provide leadership in HR management and guiding other managers in staff development, training, mentoring and coaching to improve staff performance, motivation and morale
  • Develop training and learning culture within the business and ensure that these activities are informed by business needs and are aligned to the performance management process
  • Continually review and update the terms and conditions of service of employees to ensure that the company remains within common market practice and communicate to the staff appropriately
  • Continually review pay and reward systems that are in place within the company so as to ensure that these remain competitive and affordable
  • Develop, implement and monitor compensation and benefits policies to attract, retain and motivate staff
  • Cultivate an organisation culture that supports team spirit and strong work ethic.
Qualification and background
  • Degree in a Business related field and a higher diploma in HR
  • At least five (5) years relevant human resource experience preferably at a senior level i.e. Manager or Assistant Manager level with strong skills in industrial relations (working in a unionised environment, CBA negotiations etc.) and human resource analytics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of integrity, strong business acumen and well developed negotiation skills.
  • Highly proactive individual with a proven track record of successfully aligning human resources initiatives to business operations strategy
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multi disciplinary teams
