Position Title Project Manager –Agriculture and Irrigation Management (PM Agriculture)
Reporting Protocol Regional Programs Manager (RPM)
Contract Length 12 Months (3 months probation period) with possibilities of extension

Duty Station Dolow District in Gedo Region.
Responsibilities Technical activities:
 Training the community in nutrition garden crop production and horticulture/multi storey gardening
 Training of targeted farmers on fodder production, management and storage.
 Supervise and direct the construction of Semicircular bunds in 5 villages through CFW
 Supervise, coordinator and implement Goat restocking intervention to the targeted beneficiaries.
 Community mobilization and sensitization on the project objectives and overall goal.
 Support communities to identify, strengthen or develop community based early
warning systems.
 Compile quarterly Success Stories for the RPM to be shared with our donors and funders
 Under the guidance of the RPM, assist to provide regular community and beneficiaries feedback through the complaints response mechanisms as well as weekly and monthly reporting
 Build capacity of communities to rehabilitate and manage strategic water points to ensure water availability during droughts.
 Assist communities to develop community based disaster risk reduction plans, action
plans and to monitor the implementation of those plans.
 Facilitate local communities in participatory review and assessment of existing
community natural resources, food production and documentation of traditional and
formal strategies to food security and Natural Resource management.
 Organize for community forums or trainings on conflict mitigation and management.
  Support communities identification and undertaking of environmental protection
and rehabilitation projects

Qualifications
 Holder of Agricultural/Natural Resource Management/Environmental Studies/
Degre. A diploma holder with three years of experience in rangeland management will
be considered.
 Must be a Somali with clear knowledge of the District/Region of operation.
 Strong computer skills and ability to use standard computing packages (word,
excel, outlook, power point, internet etc)
 Developed planing, organizational and research / analytical skills;
 Strong team working and interpersonal skills;
 Experience working in fast paced humanitarian programming in Somalia is an advantage;
 Be able to communicate effectively in Somali and English Language.
