Salary:£26,112- 29,702 (Dependent on experience) - Additional Benefits Package (Education Allowance, Accommodation Allowance, Flight Tickets, Healthcare and many more)
We are currently recruiting for a Regional Advisor – WASH based in Nairobi, Kenya with frequent travel to Ethiopia, South Sudan, Somalia and within Kenya. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective design and coordination of all WASH programmes in our offices in Ethiopia, Somalia and South Sudan. S/he will lead the WASH sector of IRW in East Africa. S/he will develop sectoral policies, guidelines, initiate and/or review proposals, document Islamic Relief’s experience, best practices and contribute to strategic planning and wash policy making at National, Regional and Global levels.
S/he will maintain good communication and dynamism within the team to guarantee coherence of actions and high levels of motivation of all team members. You will train staff, communities and partners on WASH implementation methodologies and give technical advice on the type of water projects suitable to the different geographical environments IR works. The Regional Advisor will ensure that WASH programmes have monitoring indicators that are measurable and realistic which feed into the Country Strategy outcome and global strategy.
We are looking for applicants ideally educated to a Masters Degree in a relevant discipline related to the field. The successful candidate will have high-level 5+ years experience related to WASH for International NGO’s at senior level. The candidate will have experience and skills in WASH design and implementation methodologies such as CHAST, PHAST & CTLS. The successful candidate will have excellent written and spoken communication skills, being IT literate with an excellent command of MS Office applications. You will have a proven track record of developing strategies, evidence-based research papers and advocacy at national level. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful proposal development for bilateral donors such as DFID, ECHO, Europe Aid, SIDA, CIDA & USAID. The candidate will be fluent in English in both spoken and written. Working knowledge of Arabic or the local language will be a significant advantage.
