Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi invites applications for the position of Director, Outreach Operations


 
Responsibilities
​The position holder will facilitate and participate in the strategic planning process for the Outreach Centers (OCs) for AKUH,N in East Africa as well as oversee and direct all operational aspects of the Outreach Programme.  As the leader of the Outreach Centres, the Director, Outreach Operations will be responsible to the senior management team of AKUH,N for the achievement of all goals. Key responsibilities will be to:
  • Develop the long and short term goals for the Outreach Division
  • Foster the growth of OCs including developing business plans for new OCs in line with annual operational, capital budgets and feasibilities
  • Oversee business development initiatives to expand the OCs, including working with architects, contractors and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate the establishment of new OCs by collaborating with relevant departments of the Hospital
  • Oversee the operations of all OCs and ensure that issues related to patients, staffing, space, equipment and service are dealt with promptly in order to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Division
  • Support the development and compliance of  Standard Policies and Procedures for OCs
  • Direct the marketing initiatives for the OCs
  • Continuously measure processes and outcomes on an on-going basis
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets
  • Direct the OCs management staff in their respective functions
  • Establish effective risk management principles including a client satisfaction feedback mechanism
  • Ensure the productive and cost-effective use of human, material and capital resources
  • Ensure clinical quality in OCs
  • Ensure accreditation of all outreaches for SANA, ISO and JCIA
Requirements
​Applicants must:
  • possess a Master’s degree in healthcare management or equivalent in Business Administration/ Finance
  • have at least 10 years’ experience in a senior position
  • have exceptional business acumen
  • be a team player
  • have excellent communication skills
