Accident and Body Repair Shop Manager

Urysia ltd holds the Peugeot franchise in Kenya and over the last two years has experienced tremendous growth with key highlights in commissioning the Bunyala road branch; one of the largest in Africa that meets international standards and aimed at regaining the confidence of Peugeot customers in quality and service delivery. The company is also in the process of acquiring additional franchises which will see growth and presence in passenger segment, trucks, prime movers and motor cycles as well as cementing its countrywide presence.
In light of these plans, Urysia ltd is looking to recruit an Accident and Body Repair Shop Manager. In this position, you will manage the workshop team, organise the work to be performed, taking account of the human and material resources available; play a key role in customer satisfaction by ensuring that work meets requisite quality standards, cost and lead time requirement.

Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to customer satisfaction by ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the commitments given in respect to quality, cost and lead time;
• Guarantee the quality of the work performed and ensure the requisite productivity levels are attained
• Monitor vehicle repairs, check the quality of the services provided and ensure compliance with the customer order.
• Estimate the cause, the cost and the lead time of additional work deemed necessary by the Technicians and provide this information to the Receptionist
• Draw up the pre-invoice, complete with remarks and the results of the test and the Peugeot checks
• Provide loading plans on a weekly basis, and provide updates on any modifications
• Organise the work to be performed, taking account of the human and material resources available
• Ensure that equipment and zones are properly maintained; ensure waste is properly disposed.
• Analyse the work order and request for additional information where appropriate
• Ensure that mechanics/electricians are aware of customers’ requirements in respect of the work requested
• Set time and cost objectives based on estimated intervention time
• Draw up quotations and supervise the preparation of release slips for parts and supplies; ascertain spare parts availability and monitor release
• Ensure that warranty procedures and loyalty-building products are properly managed
• Provide assistance and advice, and ensure that health and safety rules are complied with.
• Provide leadership to departmental teams; periodically bring the team in order to optimise involvement in the results and enhance the quality of the work performed

Requirements 
• A BSc Engineering graduate with at least 8 years of related experience in the automobile or related industry, 5 years of which should be in a managerial capacity
• Excellent knowledge in automotive systems (vehicle layout, function and location of parts)
• Strong team and customer service skills
• Strong planning and organizing skills
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Working knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs
• An understanding of commercial and customer requirements
• Strong leadership skills
