Norfund , Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries is owned by the Norwegian Government and serves as an instrument in Norwegian development policy. Investment Director – Head of Regional Office in Nairobi
The regional office in Nairobi, which covers Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan, is part of the Industrial Partnerships Department which mainly invests in agribusiness. Our present Head of Regional office in Nairobi has served Norfund for over 16 years, the last 6 years being in Africa, where he is credited with significantly growing the regional portfolio. The candidate we seek to fill his shoes must have substantial experience in operative management in agribusiness and/or investment management and a master’s degree in finance. You will be project manager for a range of investments and team leader for the Nairobi team. You will report to the Head of Department, Industrial Partnerships and SME Funds based in Oslo, Norway.
Scope of work
  Team leader regional office
 Pipeline building in the region and relationship building with important regional stakeholders 
 Management of a range of investments in our portfolio.
 Follow up and trouble shooting in challenging investments.
 Appraisal of investment proposals, with emphasis on risks and risk mitigation.
 Due diligence processes
 Valuation analysis.
 
Qualifications
 Masters in Finance
 Experience or training in agribusiness
 Strong network and substantial work experience in the region
 Senior Management experience
 Structured and efficient work style.
 Result oriented, and ability to work in small teams and with co-investment partners.
 Sector knowledge
 Excellent communication abilities in English
