Marketing Assistant

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Group Product Manager, the purpose of this role is to support the Pharma Marketing department in meeting business objectives through coordination of brand activities, including but not limited to management of marketing agencies and other suppliers, marketing department logistics and documentation, communication, product launches and promotional materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Manage logistics 
• Book & process LPO requisition for all marketing activities in Kenya and DCEA and events
• Coordinate marketing communication to Healthcare providers in DCEA
• Coordinate marketing communication to trade in Kenya and DCEA
• Maintain and manage  the marketing department’s documents
Manage logistics for Product launch
• Manage the events agency.
• Book &process LPO requisitions for Product launch activities.
• Manage and process Health Care Professional (HCP) speaker engagement and other travel logistics.
• Process the HCP speaker Honoraria.       
 
Promotional Materials
• Track and monitor usage/expiry of promotional materials in DCEA.
• Liaison between suppliers, agencies and Pharma marketing including follow up on their purchasing orders.
• Manage the receipt and inventory of promotional material in the third party ware house as per established guidelines and dispatch to DCEA.
• Liaison with suppliers for generation of simple artwork & proof reading of layout for marketing teams.
• Handling various market specific projects for the marketing team.eg roll out of Asthma awareness campaign, rational use of antibiotics and deworming campaigns.
• Develop POS materials with Brand Custodian and ensure visibility of company’s Brands within pharmacy trade channels.
 
Research
• Assist in the execution of research plans with guidance from the appropriate Group Product Manager.
• Manage special initiatives for collection of market data.
• Facilitate Brand recall surveys in DCEA.
• Manage DCEA market intelligence and feedback.
Brand communication
• Execute PR initiatives to support brands in close liaison with the Marketing Director.

QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES
• A degree in biological sciences.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Good planning and organising skills and attention to details.
• Excellent phone etiquette and a good command in spoken and written English.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills and excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability work with cross functional teams.
• Ability to adhere to short and strict deadlines.
• Self starter with ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft  word and Microsoft  projects.
