Planning Manager, Graduate Professional Schools

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Planning Manager, Graduate Professional Schools.
Responsibilities
​Reporting to the Project Director, the Planning Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing aspects of GPS Planning in East Africa. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, for a period of 12 months, with an option to renew the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate planning and development of the Graduate Professional Schools, which involves conducting research and analysis in specialized subject areas (e.g. tourism, management etc.)
  • Support the ongoing development of the short-term (start-up) and long-term strategic plans for each school
  • Refine the business/financial model for each of the schools, including validating student numbers, faculty numbers, and the financial projections
  • Develop and write papers/reports/presentations for various forums and meetings, including Board meetings, as well as provide agenda setting and coordination support at meetings
  • Write proposals, reports and facilitate ongoing communication to support fundraising efforts for the schools
Requirements
​Applicants should:

  • possess Masters and Bachelor’s degrees (emphasis on business, communication)
  • have a minimum of three to five years' experience in management consulting or planning
  • have excellent written and oral communication skills, with a high level of proficiency in English and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • have proven ability to work autonomously and to handle prospect identification, multiple solicitations, and stewardship activities simultaneously
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
