SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER – CIVIL SOCIETY
The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) manages the Australian Government’s overseas aid program to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. AusAID's development cooperation with sub-Saharan Africa seeks to make a practical and unique contribution by focusing on sectors where Australia has experience and expertise and is best able to make a difference. Australia’s assistance to Africa is focused on food security and agriculture, water and sanitation, maternal and child health and building human resource capacity.
AusAID seeks to recruit a Senior Program Manager – Civil Society who can effectively manage Australia’s largest program of funding to NGOs in Africa; provide strategic input, undertake analysis and inform decision making on policy and programs and build effective professional partnerships with stakeholders in Australia and Africa.

Key Responsibilities Include:
 Management of a number of civil society programs including participation in project design processes, monitoring and reporting on project and partner performance, providing advice on potential improvements and effective risk management.
 Development and maintenance of positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and strong collaboration with team members in Australia and across Africa.
 Monitoring and analysis of developments in AusAID policy and international best practice with regard to civil society engagement in Africa and the provision of practical advice to senior management and AusAID teams on all aspects of civil society programming.
 Contributing to Australia's broader engagement in the region through close collaboration with other program teams, support for high-level visits and contributing to country and regional analysis and strategy development.

Qualifications and Experience:
 At least 5 years’ experience in the international development sector.
 Experience working for a multilateral or bilateral donor will be an advantage
