Senior Accountant

                            

We are a blue chip Company, a leader in the broadcast media sector. Due to expansion and growth, the following position has arisen in our organization:

         

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

CONTEXT:

·         Finance Department

·         Computerized systems

CUSTOMERS:

·         Senior  Management

·         Auditors (Internal and external)

OUTPUTS:

·         Manage Finance Managers

·         Responsible for inter-company accounts

·         Prepare and process accounting journals in terms of IFRS

·         Preparation of  monthly management accounts

·          Statutory reporting:

o   Assistance with monthly completion of reporting packs

o   Assistance with year-end completion of reporting packs

o   Completion of annual financial statements

·         Responsible for tax computations

·         Completion of various company’ tax returns

·         Financial Planning

·         Financial analysis

·         Resolution of financial queries

·         Budgets and forecasting

·         Assistance with corporate governance

·         Assistance with managing systems of internal, operational and financial control

·         Assistance with ad hoc projects

Qualifications:

·         University degree in business related field

·         Qualified Accountant (CPA (K), ACCA , or equivalent) are a mandatory requirement

·         High degree of proficiency in computer applications for accounting and finance

·         At least 7 years work experience which includes regular provision of the above outputs

COMPETENCIES:

·         Strong financial and accounting knowledge (IFRS)

·         Statutory understanding (companies act and Tax)

·         Financial analysis experience

·         Computer knowledge:

• GL packages
• Excel – spreadsheets
• Microsoft Word
• Hyperion Financial Management (advantageous)
