Aquiring Manager

Purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Acquiring and Support, the position is responsible for coordinating and supporting the day to day running of the acquiring business portfolio, by being the direct contact person with the merchants across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build solid relationships with acquiring partners to raise the profile of the organization within their organizations/companies and maximize opportunities
  • Support the development of a solid strategy/plan for acquirers across all channels which will include target revenue, ‘hit rate’ (service acceptance) management and action plan
  • Analyse and monitor ‘hit rate’ trends and work onsite as part of the Acquirer team to constantly improve these rates 
  • Manage and maintain solid relationships with acquiring partners, conduct regular business reviews with all acquirers and present feedback to stakeholders regularly
  • Act as the first point of contact for Acquirers, liaising directly with their internal departments and external partners
  • Work closely with Acquirers to compile marketing material for specific products to support their sales activities, as well as devise new and improved ways of selling and promoting products  
  • Provide and direct merchant training as required and agreed with the Acquirer
Qualifications and requirements:
For this position, the successful applicant will be an experienced card specialist and marketing strategist.  The applicant will be a customer centric, business-driven, and highly innovative, revenue generator, with accountability for the long term vision and profitable growth of the product line and customer segment.
For the position, the successful applicant should have the following:
  • A university degree in a business related field from an accredited university.  Possession of a postgraduate degree or professional qualification in a business related field will be an added advantage. 
  • At least 4 years’ experience in general banking with 3 years’ experience in the following areas; relationship management, customer service, product development and people management. 
  • Additional experience is required in more specific areas like credit skills, card acquiring and operations and VISA and MasterCard operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels with a high level of professionalism.
