Assistant Programme Officer

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a joint organization of German institutions of Higher Education devoted to international academic exchange and University co-operation. Our Regional Office in Nairobi has over forty years’ record of facilitating capacity building in Higher Education and German-East African collaboration in teaching and research.
 We would like to fill the position of an Assistant Programme Officer from May, 2015
 Tasks
 Assist in the administration of DAAD’s in-country and in-region scholarships
 Take care of national and international DAAD scholarship holders in Kenya and the East African region
 Assist senior staff with secretarial and organizational work
 Disseminate information on DAAD programmes during individual consultations, at Universities and higher education forums
 Prepare workshops and conferences
 Do desk research on issues of Higher Education in East Africa

Qualifications and Experience
 Bachelor degree
 Very good command of English, German language skills being an asset
 Interest in project planning, management and administration
 Computer literacy
 Good communication skills and ability for teamwork
 Eagerness to learn and develop
