Duty Station : Lodwar

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the incumbent will provide effective transport facilitation to Turkana Water Project staffs in order to attain the objective of the Diocese of Lodwar.

Key duties and responsibilities:-
§ Drives office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel’s going on field work trips, delivery, collection of mails, documents and other items;
§ Responsible for day to day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres etc; performs minor repairs and arranges for the repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean at all times;
§ Ensure proper day to day maintenance of the assigned vehicle and all required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, country maps, office directory, first aid kit and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle;
§ Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulation are taken in case of involvement of accidents;
§ Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Functional and Competencies
Participates effectively in team based information – sharing environment, collaborating and cooperating with others; ready to drive in different parts of Turkana County; plans and produces quality results to meet established goals; good communication skills and capacity to work under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience
§ Completion of secondary school education;
§ Clean valid driving license of classes B, C and E and Certificate of Good Conduct
§ Five years experience (3 years experience in Turkana county) and safe driving record;
§ Knowledge in mechanics, welding is an added asset
§ Must be flexible and able to adapt to abrupt changes in project at short notices;
§ A recommendation letter from a Parish Priest.
