Monitoring and Evaluation Officer


Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Two years contract renewable)
Duty Station: Mandera Kenya
Reports to: REACH program Manager
Job Summary
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the project data management system, support the implementation of the project Monitoring and Evaluation Plan. He/She will track, collect, and review project level performance monitoring data and assist project staff in documenting activity progress and results. He/She will monitor project activities and results; providing information on the status and progress of program activities; disseminating information; and reporting project results.

Responsibilities
1. Assist in reviewing and compiling reports prepared by implementing partners.
2. Oversee and support partners to implement the project M & E plan.
3. Ensure that the project database management system captures all data relevant for monitoring and evaluation of the MCH program
4. Take lead in entry and analysis of project data from the field sites in the greater Mandera county
5. Oversee the management and maintenance of project data for regular reporting on program progress
6. Assist Project Partners in documenting lessons learnt, success stories, human interest stories and case studies
7. Assist in designing and implementing participatory processes and procedures
8. Assist in ensuring Quality Control of all M & E products
9. Representing the organization in relevant health meetings in Mandera County
10. Undertakes any other duties which might reasonably be requested

Essential requirements
1. Significant experience in the monitoring and evaluation of projects
2. Bachelors degree in health, social sciences or other relevant degree
3. Strong conceptual and analytical skills
4. Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Access & Power Point
5. Fluent oral and written English
6. Good report writing skill

Desirable requirements.
1. Higher diploma in health, social sciences or equivalent with 3 years experience
2. Knowledge and understanding of arid and semi arid areas and the pastoralist communities
3. Working knowledge of managing database systems (Access, SPSS, SAS)
