Programme Manager


As part of strengthening the operations of Youth Alive! Kenya, we seek to recruit a suitable young person to join our impressive team of professionals as a Programme Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director, the position will entail providing direct assistance to the Youth Alive! Kenya head office Nairobi’s programme’s department.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, effective management, coordination as well as technical advice to all project coordinators handling the various projects
  • Provide technical direction to the development and implementation of all project activities
  • Develop strategic partnerships with relevant government agencies as well as other non-governmental and private sector agencies
  • Track/monitor progress against programme milestones and activities, against scheduled work plans and overall programme objectives
  • Ensure all programme documentation meets the required quality and compile and share timely and quality reports.
  • Work with the with the rest of the team on resource mobilization for the various programmes
  • Any other duty you may be called upon to do from time to time

Desired Skills & Qualifications
§  Must be below the age of 30 years;
§  Must be a hold a bachelors degree in law, sociology, management or other related fields from a reputable university
§  Must have at least 3 years experience working in a non-profit and overseeing the implementation of a broad based programme
§  Must have a strong disposition to working with disadvantaged people, an unmatched drive for social profits and bias towards the protection and promotion of human rights;
§  Must be a self-starter who can work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines;
§  Must be an outstanding role model for young people, of unquestionable integrity and high ethical standards.
§  Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills with fluency in English;
§  Must be a team player with the ability to work with others to achieve high goals in a fast paced and culturally diverse environment;
