The client seeks to hire Agricultural Business Manager


Job DescriptionComplete operational control of the Agricultural Services division as well as agricultural laboratories within Kenya. This includes business development, Financial and HR responsibilities.
Reports directly to country Managing Director
Responsibilities

  • Accountable for meeting business budget revenues and profitability forecasts
  • Responsible for all divisional operations and high degree executions
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a single, cohesive and motivated team focused on client service and satisfaction with a high level of collaboration within the technical groups.
  • Responsible for mentoring, developing, training and effectively utilizing all human resources.
  • Responsible for developing long and short term business strategies, marketing and operations.
  • Contribute ideas and support to global agricultural services structures within the group
  • Drive local market and services strategy
  • Responsible for pricing policies in conjunction with Executive Management Team
  • Responsible for setting annual budget target for revenues and profit for the group in collaboration with regional client MD and client VP for agricultural Services.
  • Maintain Contact with client VP for agricultural services for technical and sales support as well as proposal coordination.
  • Create  profitability and sustainable growth
  • Develop budgets for specific projects and new services.
  • Develop and implement new sales tools
  • Development and implementation of operational tools and guidelines.
  • Responsible for service level agreements.
  • Create and promote strategic initiatives
  • Adhere to al quality and safety requirements of client management system.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by line Manager
Specific Authorities
  • Taking accountability for the activities within the agricultural Division
  • Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environment without the necessary knowledge  and protection and report the same to higher authorities for action
  • Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality(integrity)of services and report the same to authorities for action
  • Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when non conformity is identified.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation
  • Technical or equivalent qualification
  • Business qualification
Experience
  • Knowledge of agricultural markets
  • Sound financial acumen
  • Up to date on the latest technology and methodology
Competencies
  • Technical product knowledge, local, regional and global knowledge of market segments
  • Management skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Client liaison and good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and fluent in English
