Financial Manager Anglophone Zone
Alios Finance is a pan-african specialised finance company with a mix of prestigious African and European investors. We target SMEs, multinationals and individuals with products such as leasing, investment loans and consumer finance. We have been present in Africa since 1956 and currently have holding companies in Tunis and Nairobi, which oversee operations in Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Gabon, Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya. Our combined portfolio across Africa is US$265m and we have ambitious expansion plans, particularly into English speaking Africa.
FINANCIAL MANAGER ANGLOPHONE ZONE BASED IN NAIROBI, KENYA
To support our expansion plans, we are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and dynamic Financial Manager for the Anglophone Zone at our Group Office in Nairobi. Reporting to the Group CEO, you will be in charge of financial management in the Anglophone zone, currently Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia with Uganda expected to come on board soon, having a functional relationship with each country’s Finance Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be expected to provide financial expertise and advice at a strategic level on all matters related to existing subsidiaries and regional expansion including taxation and investment climates in current and potential subsidiaries. In particular, you will be expected to:
Prepare the consolidated accounts of the Zone as in input into the Group Accounts, under the guidance of and for final validation by the Group Financial Manager.
Manage all financial, legal, tax and administrative aspects of the holding company in Kenya.
Pilot the optimization of the accounting and tax aspects of each subsidiary in your zone
Guide, support and train the finance managers and accountants in the Zone’s subsidiaries.
Oversee the semi and annual audit in these subsidiaries and the effective implementation of audit recommendations.
Actively participate in funding raising efforts for these subsidiaries from financial and other non-traditional financing sources
Ensure accurate and timely management and statutory reporting for each of the subsidiaries to their shareholders, lenders of the group and other stakeholders
Assess risks at the subsidiary level through the analysis of the accounts, cash flow, cost controls, expenses and other reports and provide guidance and support in mitigating them.
Participate in all finance related IT projects in the Anglophone zone

REQUIREMENTS
Masters degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
5+ years relevant work experience at senior level in a financial institution or a reputable audit firm
Demonstrable experience at strategic level that includes high level macro analysis and possibly funding raising
Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting including IFRS
Understanding of and/or experience in a credit (lending/leasing) environment will be an advantage
Experience in multi country operations; we prefer that you have overseen the accounts of more than one country based in Anglophone Africa.
Fluent in English. Knowledge of French is a plus
