We are a leader in the broadcast media sector. Due to expansion and growth, the following position has come up in our organization.
CLERK OF WORKS
Purpose
The Clerk of Works reports to the Project Manager and/or Architect for supervision on site of the whole works forming the contract.The Clerk of Works has full authority to ensure that the work complies with the drawings that have been given.
Roles & Responsibilities:

·         Contractor’s Establishment-Keep a monthly report that includes: staff attendance, Labor by trade, Infrastructure and plant.
·         Valuations-Confirm that the extent and quality of the work valued comply with the drawings and specifications.
·         Design and Physical Planning-Study contract drawings, specification and bills of quantities. Identify with the contractor any conflicts in drawings and specifications (co-ordination). Identify with the contractor any missing information needed (drawings and specifications).
·         Contract-Provide the Project Manager/Architect with the following information:Valuation orders issued, Day works instructed by the Architect (sign to acknowledge correctness), Payments claim for additional work.
·         Program and Progress (diary record and bar chart elements)Elements completed (dates and approximates measurement),Weather (by half day and rainfall hours),Events (delays, accidents, strikes, theft, visits),Progress and program including summary, Hours of working, Attend monthly site meetings, Request confirmation that imported materials and components are available.
·         Material Deliveries (in table format by day with dates and quantities).
·         Inspections and Quality Control.
·         Handover and Feedback.
·         Delegated powers of the Clerk of Works-To issue site instructions in connection with any routine infringement of the Conditions of Contract, departure from the Specification or failure to follow the drawings by the Contractor or sub-contractors which do not involve a stoppage of work.
·         Specific Tasks of the Clerk of Works-Generally the duty of the Clerk of Works is to inspect the works and to ensure that the Contractor is at all times and in all respects complying with the Conditions of Contract, the Specification and the Drawings, and that he is conforming with the programme of works.


Qualifications
·         Must be in possession of at least a degree in building and civil engineering.
·         Must have knowledge and competency in information and communication technology and use of MS project. 
·         Proficiency in use of AutoCAD, ArchCADetc. will be an added advantage.

Experience
·         Ten (10) years’ experience including five (5) years as Clerk of Works, preferably involved in large commercial developments.
·         A strong preference will be accorded to applicants who possess experience pertaining to site supervision of construction works of office buildings.
·         Must be conversant with Modern Building construction practices and contract administration from operational and legal approach.
·         Experience in managing a large labor force of both skilled and unskilled workers is essential.
·         Proven team dynamics and project management skill is essential.
·         The candidate must be computer literate.

Knowledge and Skills
·         Must have high level of integrity and prudence.
·         Abilityto multitask, ready to work long hours and be able to perform under pressure.
·         Ability to read and interpret drawings and make reports.
·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
·         People management skills.
