We currently have an exciting career opportunity for Fraud Investigator. The post holder will
report to the Assistant Manager - Forensics & Fraud investigation in the Forensics and Fraud
Investigation Unit and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Role Purpose
Undertaking forensic, fraud & other investigations including extracting, analyzing and
interpreting data, gathering evidence, summarizing & reporting information gathered and other
complex business information in a well understood manner
 
Responsibilities
1. Ensure that all offences of fraud, theft and dishonesty against Jubilee insurance are
investigated & reported in a consistent manner;
2. Professionally and forensically gather evidence to be used to support reported offences;
3. Perform regular reviews of exceptions reported in business information by analyzing,
interpreting, summarizing and presenting for further investigations;
4. Assist in the follow up on implementation of recommendations made during investigations.
5. Assist in creation of staff awareness on company policies on fraud and loss prevention.
6. Conduct preventive fraud risk assessments
7. Recommend on policy, procedure or operations enhancement arising from gaps
observed/identified during investigations
8. Prepare fraud investigation reports
9. Assist in funds tracing, asset identification and asset recovery within fraud cases that have
been proven;
10. Proactively gather relevant information that can lead to prevention or discovery of fraud.
11. Represent the company in courts as and when required and assist business with prosecution
of fraud suspects and recovery of lost revenue.
12. Liaise with other internal and external stakeholders and general crime prevention agencies
and create conducive environment to ensure that necessary information and assistance is
received to avert any risks directed to Jubilee Insurance operations network-wide.
 
Key Deliverables
1. Timely investigation and conclusion on detected fraud cases
2. Conducting fraud awareness campaigns as well as training company staff on anti-fraud
policy and procedures
 
Qualification and Experience
Academic Qualifications
i. A Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university;
Relevant Experience
i. 3 years investigative experience in a fraud management department of a blue chip
company or prior experience of at least 5 years in any law enforcement agency
ii. Proven work experience in forensic investigations or having undertaken extensive
investigative assignments, in a blue chip company, is mandatory
iii. Certification in CFE will be an added advantage
iv. Knowledge in insurance investigation will be added advantage
v. Ability to read and interpret documents such as testimonies, police reports, operating &
maintenance instructions and legal regulations
vi. Experience in carrying out interviews and interrogations
vii. Excellent in Microsoft Office applications
viii. Communication, analytical and report writing skills
ix. Ability to work within strict deadlines under minimum supervision
