Caretaker. The post holder will report to Property Officer – Property Department and will be
based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Role Purpose
Providing daily reports on the status of the Jubilee owned buildings with regard to maintenance,
inspection and ensuring that all cases of tenant queries and maintenance issues are acted upon
promptly.
Responsibilities
• Inspecting all areas and giving daily status reports on fabric, services and environment.
• Following up on decisions emanating from the reports and implementing them as directed
by the Property Officer.
• Supervising Contractors/ Sub-Contractors to ensure high job quality and that work is
completed on time.
• Ensuring that power supply is available to all buildings at all times and the generator is
serviceable.
• Checking on water inlet and ensuring that there is sufficient water supply to the buildings.
• Checking on security, cleanliness and lifts for the buildings and reporting any anomalies to
the Property Officer.
• Filing documents e.g. Certificates, Leases, Letters of offer and other correspondence.
• Performing minor repairs that do not require external Contractors/Sub-Contractors
• Reporting any Sub-tenants to the Property Officer.
• Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Management
• Undertaking and completing minor repair/replacements, including lights bulbs and tubes,
leaking taps and minor furniture/hardware repairs.
• Daily checks of all building service systems including but not limited to pumps, motors, lifts,
ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, mechanical and generator rooms and completion of
requisite inspection reports.
• Ensures common area maintenance and cleanliness of the building at all times
Qualifications,
1. Diploma in Building & Civil Engineering or Construction and maintenance technology
from recognized institution.
2. Government Trade Test with certification in plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry &
joinery preferred.
3. Knowledge in property management and maintenance.
