CIVIL ENGINEERING COORDINATOR
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Civil Engineering Manager, the Civil Engineering Coordinator will coordinate civil works for Tullow Kenya’s exploration activities in Northern Kenya. You will also manage various activities related to civil works and stake holders (Consultants, Contractors, Field Engineers / Supervisor and Tullow Head office) by providing leadership, guidance and support to the team so as to ensure timely completion of projects within the agreed schedule , budget and in line with the Company’s standards.
Description:
Coordinate all aspects of Tullow’s civil projects in the field.
Manage the interface with local stakeholders and local government agencies regarding civil works.
Manage the team of Field Engineers/ Supervisors who oversee the civil works at the sites.
Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources.
Provide Technical support and guidance to the Field Engineers.
Ensure that the Field Engineers/ Supervisor maintain a proper record of actual works on site and all site activities
Ensure that construction activities are completed within agreed timeline and budget.
Monitor the progress and hold regular status meetings.
Project Budget control and management
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering.
Minimum 10years of experience in construction projects.
Excellent communication skills.
Good understanding of construction industry and Contract law.
Thorough knowledge of construction safety standards is essential. Proven team leading skills. Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams.
Strong focus on environment, health and safety
Excellent and proven stakeholder management skills
Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
Pragmatic approach and ability to find fit-for-purpose solution
Willingness to work at remote locations
Fully conversant with MS Office
Ability to interpret drawings
