Each year millions of people around the world feel the effects of
natural disaster and conflict. RedR is an international charity that improves
the effectiveness of disaster relief, helping save and rebuild the lives of
people affected by disaster worldwide. We do this by delivering essential
training and support to relief organisations and their staff, and by supplying
skilled professionals to humanitarian programmes.
Job Description
The HR and Administration Assistant will
provide support to the Head of Support Services on the day-to-day
administration and liaison functions for field office.
1.
Ensure that finance and other administrative documents
are complete and are properly managed and filed;
2.
Assist in the preparation of payment documents;
3.
Filing bank statements, banking slips and payment
vouchers;
4.
Ensure that receipts are well filled upon payments and
address any issue raised during an internal audit;
5.
Assist in Procurement and business support;
6.
Assist in following up of Payment of all statutory
deductions;
7.
Review invoices for accuracy and that they match with
the LPO;
8.
Monitoring and follow up of
all departmental requests;
9.
Ensuring that all cheques
paid are banked within the specified period;
10. Assist in financial requests and
bank reconciliations;
11. Maintain financial files and records, and ensure transactions are
properly recorded;
12. Assisting in general office maintenance and administration;
13. Review accounting ledgers to ensure that subsidiary
ledger balances match general ledger

Any other duties specified by the Head of Support
Services as appropriate for the role.
Person Specification
·
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
option;
·
Qualified CPA part II;
·
Keen and pays attention to detail;
·
Ability to work well within a team and independently
unsupervised and develop on the job;
·
Possess Excel spread sheet and word-processing
programs at a highly proficient level;
- Excellent
organizational skills and ability to determine priorities and meet
multiple deadlines;
- Detail-oriented
with good multi-tasking abilities and communication skills, both oral and
written;
- Must be
numerate and not easily bored with figures;
·
Exposure to one or more computerised accounting
packages will be an added advantage;
- The candidate
must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of a Finance
Intern;
- Flexibility and a can-do approach to tasks
and the ability to adapt to a changing and challenging environment.
