Background
The Somalia Food Security Cluster (FSC) is
jointly managed by the World Food Programme Somalia and the Food and
Agriculture Organisation Somalia whose activities include the coordination of
food security related programmes to minimise response gaps and promote
preparedness. The FSC works with humanitarian agencies in Somalia to invest
in the capacity of the cluster’s membership and work with the broader
humanitarian community.
This position is
open to qualified Somali candidates with good knowledge of the local area. Female
candidates in particular, are encouraged to apply.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the designated Food
Security Cluster (FSC) coordinator, the incumbent duties will include the
following;

Act
as the main conduit for information sharing between the secretariat, cluster,
and regional focal points and vice coordinators;
·
Oversee preparation and dissemination of timely
analytical and critical reports;
·
Identify
issues raised by partners for action by focal points, cluster coordinators
and the Strategic Advisory Committee / Group;
·
Assist
the training officer in identifying training needs assessment for partners
and support the coordination of capacity building and training of partners;
·
Provide remote support in order to strengthen
sub-national cluster coordination meeting and where necessary provide
in-country support;
·
Through the Regional Vice-Coordinators ensure that
at the local level cluster member are aware of best practices and collect human
interest stories for advocacy purpose;
·
Maintain and update field FSC records as need be;
·
Prepare periodic reports on the progress of
operational projects and related plans;
·
Ensure compliance with WFP’s policies, criteria
and procedures with respect to food aid;
·
Periodically monitor the management risk and
report any action;
·
Perform any other related duties as required.
