Programme Officer – Trade Facilitation


The Programme Officer – Trade Facilitation will support the Trade Facilitation (transport and non-transport) units in the implementation of projects focused on eliminating Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) to trade and harmonisation of standards in East Africa. The individual will conduct baseline assessments and monitor on-going projects for the teams to ensure success in the targeted activities.
We are looking for a self-driven individual with strong research and report writing skills as well as the ability to work under minimum supervision. S/he should possess an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences or Business Administration or any other related field with at least five years’ relevant work experience in an international organisation. Experience with donors or donor-funded projects is highly desirable.

This is a demanding environment and requires candidates with strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work under pressure amidst competing demands. The positions are available on initial 2-year contracts with attractive salary and benefit packages, and are based in Nairobi, Kenya with occasional travel around East Africa.
