Financial Controller

CURE International is seeking a Financial Controller for a CURE Hospital location in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce or finance with emphasis in accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CPA-K,

Experience Required: Minimum five years accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Prior supervisory and management background is required. CPA-K

Supervises: All hospital financial and accounting staff members

Skills, Characteristics Required for Position: Ability to assess risk, implement strategy, select people and measure performance; Fluency in English, additional fluency in the local language is a plus. Demonstrated abilities as a team player. excellent computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Peachtree accounting software. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Understanding of IT systems and inventory management;   Fluency in English  required. Must demonstrate a mature Christian faith and a sincere commitment to the mission of CURE International.

Summary: The Controller acts as a key member of the hospital management team by monitoring and improving financial management and internal control systems while managing and building the capacities of subordinate financial staff members. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, oversight of cash flow management, payroll oversight, and the maintaining and improving of all internal financial controls.
