MEDICAL SPECIALIST– JOB GROUP M 4 (10 POSTS)

We require Specialists: Plastic Surgeon (1 post), Nephrologist (1 post), Cardiologist (1 post), Urologist (1 post), Psychiatrist (1 post), Maxillofacial Surgeon (1 post), Anesthesiologists (2 posts), Paediatric Dentist (1 post), Radiation Oncologist (1 post) .

Job Purpose:
To contribute to the patient satisfaction through provision of specialized quality health care services in their area of specialty.


Key Responsibilities

Participate in the planning and delivery of effective and efficient and high quality medical care to patients.
Respond to consultations from other clinical specialties.
Ensure proper utilization of equipment and other supplies in the department.
Participate in clinical research and teaching.
Ensure effective supervision, training and development of staff.

Qualifications and experience
Master’s Degree in respective specialties from a recognized university.
Current Practicing License from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Board (Kenya) A minimum of one year post registration experience as a specialist in a busy Hospital.

MEDICAL OFFICER - JOB GROUP M6 (5 POSTS)
REF : MTRH/2/6/2012

Job Purpose:
To contribute to the patient satisfaction through the provision of timely and quality healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
Provide quality emergency medical care service.
Manage a wide range of medical and health care services.
Provide health education and control measures for preventable diseases and injuries.
Carry out and implement research projects in collaboration with Medical Specialists.
Participate in the management of resources.
Provide formal and informal training to other health personnel.

Qualifications and experience
A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.BCh.B) degree from a recognized institution.
A current practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (Kenya).
A current retention certificate by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (Kenya).
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) will be an added advantage.

REGISTERED CLINICAL OFFICER III -JOB GROUP M10 (8 POSTS)
REF : MTRH/3/6/2012

Key Responsibilities
Provide quality emergency medical care service.
Provide health education and control measures for preventable diseases and injuries.
Participate in the management of resources.
Qualifications and experience
A Holder of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from Kenya Medical Training or any other recognized Institution.
Atleast three (3) years working experience in a busy Hospital.

PRINCIPAL MTRH TRAINING CENTRE - SCALE M5
REF : MTRH/HR/6/6/2012
The incumbent shall be reporting to Director.

Key responsibilities:
(I) Be responsible to the Director for maintaining and promoting efficient management of Training Centre.
(ii) Be the Principal Accounting Officer of the Training Centre.
(iii) Be responsible to the Director for the general conduct and discipline of staff and students in the training centre.
(v) Propose budgets for the running of the training centre.
(vi) Provide linkage with the Hospital.
(vii) Propose programs for the expansion of the Training Centre
(viii) as a member of MTRH Training Centre Policy Committee, help in formulating policy for the training centre.
(x) Formulate proposals for funding of the Training Centre.
(xi) Ensure competitive recruitment of lecturers and tutors.
(xii) Perform such other duties that shall be assigned by the Director in accordance with the provision of the Act and the statutes.
Qualification and Experience
(i) Have served for a minimum period of ten (10) years as a Senior officer and lecturer or its equivalent for three (3) years.
(ii) Be at the level of at least a senior officer.
(iii) Hold a relevant masters degree and at least higher National Diploma in a Clinical Field e.g. Medicine, Nursing.
(iv) Have attended a management course lasting at least six (6) weeks.
(v) Demonstrated merit and leadership ability as reflected in work performance and results.
(vi) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work under pressure.
(vii) Highly developed report writing skills and should be computer literate.

DEPUTY PRINCIPALS – SCALE M6 (ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AND ADMINISTRATION)
REF: MTRH/HR/7/6/2012
The incumbent will report directly to the training centre Principal
DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (ACADEMIC AFFAIRS)

Key responsibilities:
(i) Be responsible to the Principal for maintaining and running of the Training Centre.
(ii) Be responsible for monitoring of general conduct and disciplining of staff and students.
(iii) Assist the principal in budget proposals.
(iv) Ensure course coverage is done on time.
(vi) Ensure lesson plans are prepared.
(vii) Ensure Tutors do enter performance contracts
(vii) Oversee preparations of exams.
(x) Have linkages with other Institutions in liason with course coordinators.

Qualification and Experience
(i) Have served for a minimum period of seven (7) years as a senior officer.
(ii) Hold a basic degree in Social Sciences/Business Management.
(iii) Must have attended a Management course lasting for at least four (4) weeks.
(iv) Demonstrated merit and leadership abilities as reflected in work performance and results.
(v) A Masters degree will be an added advantage.
(vi) Must be computer literate.

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (ADMINISTRATION)

Job Purpose
Develop and ensure implementation of administrative policies and procedures for effective operation of the training centre and in line with MTRH strategic plan

Key Responsibilities
Develop and formulate administrative procedures
Coordinate and manage office accommodation, equipment, telephone, registry services, transport services and security services
Management of office assistants
Provide document and telecommunication management
Ensure proper management of the training centre property
Preparing periodic reports
Ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment
Any other duties as may be assigned by the principal from time to time

Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Social Science from a recognized University
Post graduate qualification in the relevant field
Five (5) years experience with at least three (3) years at management level in Administration work

Required Competences
Have demonstrated outstanding professional competence in administration in work performance and results.
Must be able to lead a team in a diverse work environment.
Should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Be a team player and uphold collective responsibility.
Have ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment.
