Organizational Setting and Reporting
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all.

Responsibilities
The purpose of this internship is to provide support to the Office of Management to achieve its objective of managing resources of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT)
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Finance officer, the intern will:
  • Review and monitor contributions from donors
  • Prepare correspondence to donors on funds received, providing relevant project details
  • Assist in the follow-up of receipts for contributions
  • Update project information in the Project Accrual and Accountability System (PAAS)
  • Upload project documents and Budget revisions in K-Drive
  • Co-ordinate with other finance staff and respond to inquiries in respect to relevant financial; matters
  • Perform other related duties

Education
Mandatory:
  • 3nd & 4rd Year Undergraduate Finance related studies
Work Experience
  • No work experience is required for internships.
Languages
Fluency in one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat, English or French, (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
Assessment Method
Evaluation of candidates for this internship may include a substantive assessment which will be followed by a written test and face-to �face or telephone interview.
