sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and development activities. We aim to help the needy regardless of race, religion or gender. Objective of Position
To manage and implement the WASH projects at field level by maintaining effective operational water supply systems in our areas of operation, accurate, technical, and narrative reporting
corresponding to IRĂ­s/Donor Guidelines as well as proposal development.

Duties and Responsibilities
 Planning and design of construction of WASH activities elevated tanks, rising mains and distribution pipeline, reservoir tanks repair, latrines, disposal pits and waste collection bins with approval of WASH coordinator.
 Design tools for assessment with WASH Coordinator and supervise teams to carry out assessments effectively,
 Monitor the WASH project at field level in close collaboration with local authority/UNHCR teams and other INGOs and NGOs in the area,
 Monitor and review the over all WASH materials and equipments movements such as deliveries, storage, transport and utilization at the site level,
 To ensure and verify the quantity of spare parts, equipments and other water materials are ordered and received, and properly recorded for damage or suspected to be
damaged or expired,
 Ensure that the activities of health and sanitation education, personal hygiene and water development committees formation are properly planned and the implementation supervised,
 Represent IR in the water coordination meetings and in liaising with INGOs, NGOs and local authority
 Ensure the quality of water supplied is of good standard and safe for consumption and advise/recommend appropriately
 Arrange for local water and sanitation meetings within IR Kenya Dadaab County
 Ensure the proper implementation of action plan, review achievements, constraints, lessons learnt and provide feedback,
 Ensure regular reporting system in place, especially on water quality and environmental hygiene by liaising with other staff in the department
 Supervise and train other WASH staffs,
 Support monitoring and evaluation activities
 Prepare TORs and/or engagement documents with WASH coordinator to initiate the procurement of goods, services and works as deemed necessary for the effective and efficient performance of the task,
 Identify any apparent issues in the WASH project and report immediately, and perform other related duties as required.
 Prepare Reports and Proposal development related to WASH

Required skills & experience: 
 University degree in Civil/Water Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution
 Relevant experience in project formulation, management, policy and strategy research and formulation in related field
 Knowledge of Millennium Development Goals and their relevance,
 Not less than 2 years experience of WASH projects. Experience Dadaab will be an advantage
 Good Project Cycle Management, reporting and documentation skills
 Experience in working in unsecure zones with knowledge in Standard Operation Procedures
 Knowledge of International and National Standards/policies governing WASH programmes i.e SPHERE and Water Act 2002
 Strong written and verbal communication skills in English,
 Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking and analysis,
 Strong coordination and negotiation skills with stakeholders,
 Proven technical competencies in planning, design and implementation of WASH
programmes as well as sound financial skills (e.g., budgeting),
 Experience of work with a team in a multi-cultural environment in emergency and
development settings and good team leadership,
 Positive and ability to build consensus in problem solving,
 Able to engender credibility, confidence and respectability, and
 A focus on results, balanced with a sensitive and honest approach to people.

6. Comprehensive reporting system
7. Effective Budget Management/Tracking System (no overspending beyond allowable limits by Donors and IR)
